Wedding days are emotional occasions and the sentimentality of the big day leads to beautiful outpourings of love.

One bridesmaid shared how time seemed to stand still as she watched her best friend get married in an emotional clip.

While picking whom to enroll as one’s bridesmaid is not always the easiest task, experts emphasize the need to reflect thoughtfully on the decision.

In a video that amassed 1.8 million views, the reaction of Adeola Johnson (@adeolajohnson) to her bestie’s big day melted hearts on the internet.

Johnson, the bridesmaid, shared on TikTok: “POV: watching your best friend on the happiest day of her life.

“The whole world paused for a few seconds.”

The video shows Adeola, a stylist, sporting a long navy-blue satin gown with tea cup sleeves at a table as she looks lovingly into the distance as if mesmerized by the bride.

The camera then zooms in on her beaming face as she cheers on her good friend.

Users were left emotional by the touching outpouring of love.

One commented: “I don’t know you girl but I wish you so much joy and blessings yourself. You clearly have an amazing heart and a killer smile to match.”

Others shared their experiences of watching their friends tie the knot.

Geraldine said: “In 2018 when my best friend got married, I cried and when she saw me crying, she also cried.”

Sekani added: “My best girl got married, I was fighting tears when she was exchanging vows with her hubby, I got married a month after hers and she was there as well.”

Bridesmaids are a longstanding tradition with many brides opting to have their best girlfriends accompany them down the aisle.

Knowing who to choose for the role can be an anxiety-inducing task, with many brides overwhelmed with how many to have and whom to choose.

According to the wedding publication The Knot, old-fashioned wedding experts say there should be one bridesmaid for every 50 guests though this is not the be-all and end-all. It is an individual choice influenced by circumstances and social circles.

Some women may have a large group of best friends who they could not imagine walking down the aisle without though others may have a smaller, closer-knit bunch.

According to the publication, more is not always the merrier, as you have to factor in more schedules, more preferences for the dress, and higher costs for some of the bridal expenses.

Brides should opt for responsible and reliable bridesmaids since they can be in charge of some key planning such as bachelorette parties and emotional support before the big day, the site added.

Newsweek reached out to Adeola Johnson for comment via email. We could not verify the details of the case.
