Danica McKellar Celebrates 9th Wedding Anniversary: ‘So Lucky’
By Movieguide® Contributor
Danica McKellar celebrated nine years of marriage to her husband, Scott Sveslosky, at a special screening of Angel Studios’ upcoming movie, THE SHIFT.
“It was our 9th wedding anniversary last night! 🍾🎉 I feel so lucky to be married to this wonderful human!💕💕💕 Do you like our matching purple attire?😁” McKellar posted on Instagram, accompanied by a photo of her in a purple floral dress and Sveslosky in a suit with a purple tie.
“And how did we celebrate? A lovely dinner followed by a screening of @theshiftfilm – the most interesting and satisfying synergy of scifi & faith,” she continued.”
“BTW, I’m not usually a fan of films with violence and quasi-apocalyptic themes, but I was captivated – such a creative and inspiring take on scripture & good vs evil, and a truly unique film – go check it out starting Dec 1st in theaters, 👏👏👏” she added.
THE SHIFT is Angel Studios’ first full-length original movie made for a theatrical release. Taking cues from the book of Job, the movie follows a man’s journey through the multiverse as he fights to return the thing most important to himself. However, he faces a powerful adversary every step of the way.
The star-studded cast includes Sean Astin, Neal McDonough, Kristoffer Polaha and Elizabeth Tabish, along with Rose Reid, John Billingsley, Emily Rose, Paras Patel and Jordan Walker Ross. Dallas Jenkins is an executive producer on the project. Brock Heasley and Ken Carpenter directed.
While McKellar has not worked with Angel Studios, she promotes similar values of family and faith through her work. After coming to faith, McKellar has found great support through fellow Great American Media star Candace Cameron Bure. Sveslosky has also shown great support, accompanying her to church.
Sveslosky’s support for his wife in all areas of her life is a major factor in their marriage’s success.

Danica McKellar’s secret for a successful marriage? “Be willing to put in the work.”
“I think the key to any good relationship is not expecting it to be a fairy tale every day and to be willing to put in the work, to be willing to look at what your own expectations are,” the actress toldFox News.
McKellar continued, “When you’re feeling frustrated with something, with a situation, find your part in it. Always. Always. Come to any conversation when there’s conflict with, well, here’s what I could have done better. Always search for it. Hunt for it. Because that’s what you want your partner to do, too, right?”
McKellar and husband, Scott Sveslosky, recently celebrated the 10th anniversary of their first date. The couple tied the knot in 2014.
