Mike Weir and Michelle Money are married!

The PGA golfer, 53, and the Bachelor alum, 43, tied the knot in a oceanside wedding ceremony in Hawaii on Nov. 19.

“I am so excited to look Mike in the eyes in front of our girls and commit myself to him for time and eternity,” Money told PEOPLE ahead of the couple’s nuptials.

For their special day, the pair wanted to keep the celebration “intimate” with their three daughters Elle, Lili, and Brielle, who officiated the couple’s nuptials, plus Weir’s parents, Money’s mom, and their best friends, George and Linnea Roberts.

The couple’s wedding week festivities included a family golf day at Nenea Golf Club along with snorkeling, hiking during the group’s stay on the Big Island.

Money walked down the aisle to “Free” by the Zac Brown Band in the Ivone gown by Muse Berta. “It’s a bohemian style dress that has all the sexy touches I wanted,” she says. “I walked into a bridal store in Salt Lake and found it on the sale rack. I put it on and fell in love!”

The couple first met by chance in 2016. “I was walking into a restaurant with my daughter, and he happened to be walking out with a group of friends. I didn’t see him, but apparently, he saw me and asked his friends if any of them knew me,” explains Money.

“They happened to know a mutual friend who ended up giving Mike my number. We went on our first date and never looked back! I didn’t find out until months later that after he saw me at that restaurant for the first time, he couldn’t stop thinking about me, so he left his friend’s house and drove back to the restaurant to try and find me, but I had already left!”

For Weir and Money, marriage wasn’t always in the cards.

“We spent the first five years of our relationship with the understanding that we would never get married,” she says.  “He was my forever boyfriend and vice versa. After my daughter Brielle got into a really bad longboarding accident where she almost lost her life, I started seeing things differently.”

Money’s daughter Brielle was in a coma and spent 26 days in the hospital after suffering a traumatic brain injury in 2020.

“It became so clear to me that Mike was more to me than just a forever boyfriend,” she says. “He was the most incredible support to me and Brielle through the hardest time of my life. It brought us closer together in a way I had never experienced, and marriage seemed like a beautiful commitment that I wanted to make to him. Now we can’t believe we considered not getting married. He truly is the love of my life!”

Weir popped the question to Money in January during a trip to New Zealand. “We took a helicopter to the top of a glacier where the most incredible glacier lake was. He got down on a knee and asked me to marry him there on the glacier. It was incredible.”

During the ceremony the duo exchanged handwritten vows before celebrating with their family and friends with a dinner of truffle burrata caprese, Bolognese, roasted fresh fish Tuscan steak, and roasted vegetables.

As a sweet touch they cut into two wedding cakes, carrot and chocolate made by the couple’s daughter Lili and their friend Linnea. “Our two favorite bakers!” adds Money.

Now, as the newlyweds enjoy every moment of wedded bliss, Money says the day was simply a “dream come true.”
