Bollywood superstar Salman Khan recently made headlines for an unexpected role he played at a high-profile wedding back in 2006. The revelation came during the premiere episode of ‘The Great Indian Kapil Show‘ on Netflix India, where actor Ranbir Kapoor shared a fascinating anecdote about his sister Riddhima Kapoor’s wedding.
According to Ranbir, Riddhima, who was a devoted Salman Khan fan during her formative years, had adorned her room’s walls with posters of the actor. This admiration led to a delightful surprise at her wedding, as Salman Khan volunteered to step in as the bartender for the occasion.

Salman Khan’s Unusual Gesture

Neetu Kapoor, Riddhima’s mother and a well-known actor herself, recalled the humorous incident during the show. She recounted, “Salman Khan serving liquor to everybody! People came to us and complained that the alcohol is over. Rishi couldn’t believe it since he brought a lot of booze. It turned out that guests were throwing away their liquor only so that Salman Khan can serve them more. Rishi then went to him and shooed him off.”

The wedding between Riddhima Kapoor, a fashion designer, and Delhi businessman Bharat Sahni was a grand affair. The couple, who began their romance during their time studying in London, now has a daughter named Samara, who recently turned twelve. Riddhima is set to make her debut on screen with the upcoming season of the reality show, ‘Fabulous Lives Vs Bollywood Wives’, hosted by Karan Johar on Netflix India.

Salman Khan’s Connection With The Kapoor Family

This unique connection between Salman Khan and the Kapoor family extends beyond the wedding anecdote. Salman has shared screen space with Rishi Kapoor in the 2002 romantic comedy Yeh Hai Jalwa. Additionally, he made a cameo appearance in Ranbir Kapoor’s debut film, the 2007 romantic saga Saawariya, directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali.
Interestingly, Ranbir’s admiration for actors took a different turn as he revealed his childhood idol to be Sanjay Dutt rather than Salman Khan. This choice added an ironic twist as Ranbir later portrayed Sanjay Dutt in the biopic Sanju, directed by Rajkumar Hirani in 2018.
On the work front, Ranbir Kapoor is gearing up for his upcoming film ‘Love & War’, while Salman Khan is set to star in AR Murugadoss’ next action flick, keeping fans eagerly awaiting their on-screen magic.
