Wedding bells ring for Olney and Lager | Times-tribune | Maryville Forum – The Maryville Forum

GRANT CITY, Mo. — The weather has been nice all week. We did get six-tenths of an inch of rain on Sunday.

Linda and I played golf on Monday and Tuesday. She had to work the next two days and I had to work on Friday, so that took care of the week!

I was discussing the Denver schoolhouse with Helen Foster and she told me that Dan Weddle will be the speaker at the Denver School Reunion on June 23. If you can’t make it to the potluck, maybe you could attend the program after lunch.

Today was “Whitey” Olney and Shirley Lager’s big day. They were married at the Christian Church at 3 p.m. with a reception following at the Lions hall in Gentry. There was lots of good food, all prepared by family members and a beautiful cake made by Sherrie Davidson. We wish them God’s blessings for a wonderful life together.

Suzie and Bob Hull just recently made a trip to Colorado to visit their son and his family.

Monte gave me a solar fountain for my birdbath for Christmas, so we got it out yesterday while he was here. The birds are not quite sure what to think about it but are slowly getting in one at a time! After all, who ever heard of a fountain in a bath tub!!

Vivian Coleman has returned to WCC & Rehab, where she will be for a while.

I went to the nursing home this afternoon and visited with Vivian and Joyce Carr.

We are still looking for new board members. We don’t have anyone from the Worth, Denver or Allendale communities. It would be nice to have all communities represented.

Come in and visit anytime, everyone is welcome and our coffee pot is always on.
