Rio De Janiero: French President Emmanuel Macron is currently on a state visit to Brazil. During his visit, Macron visited the Amazonian rainforest with his Brazilian counterpart Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva and the pictures soon sparked a frenzy on social media.

The images from Macron’s visit to the Amazon have gone viral on social media, leaving netizens asking – is this a diplomatic visit or a wedding rehearsal?

Macron and Lula’s “Bromance” Takes Internet By Storm

Official pictures released from the French President’s visit show Macron smiling and warmly embracing Lula da Silva during a trip to the Amazon rainforest.

One such picture of the leaders holding hands in the forest went viral and netizens were quick to come up with witty montages of the “bromance”.

Another picture of the leaders raising their arms underneath a large tree was edited to show them releasing red heart balloons in the air.

Another image showed the pair hand in hand, smiling and looking over the horizon on a boat along the Amazon River.

“They are going to marry in the Amazon and have their honeymoon in Paris,” joked netizens on social media. Some even stated that images from the visit are enough to compile as a wedding album for the duo. Netizens were also quick to edit the duo into posters of famous romantic movies such as ‘La La Land’ and ‘Call Me By Your Name’.

Users also shared images of Macron’s “bromance” with other foreign leaders such as Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Canadian PM Justin Trudeau, UK PM Rishi Sunak and many more.

Macron is currently on a three day visit to Brazil, which works on bringing an end to the frosty ties between Paris and Rio De Janiero. During his trip, Macron and Lula da Silva announced a billion-dollar green investment plan for the Amazon rainforest.
